Hi everybody, This thread was very useful for installing xp on my studio 1735, aside from some issues which were fixed later by searching for information and trial and error, everything is working ok with xp. For me one of the big issues was that I couldn't make the display fill the 1920x1200 screen if I lowered my resolution (mostly for games). Even with various versions of the ATI driver modified with the mobility modder. Finally found a solution and it has been working ok so far, so here it is in case someone is running into the same problem: 1- I uninstalled all ati software (drivers, control center, etc).

2- I installed this driver: I reuploaded the driver but it was one (if not the first) XP video driver for the studio series. It was posted in this thread when it was started. The name of the EXE file is: 'P108617.EXE'. 3- I installed Ati Tray Tools:. This software is not required to fill the screen but it's a replacement for catalyst control center since CCC won't install using this driver. I noticed that everytime I finished installing xp (or when I tried windows 7) I didn't have the problem with my display filling up with a lower resolution with the default display driver windows installed.

The problem was once I installed the ati driver (modified with mobility modder). So this was one of those 'trial and error' attempts I mentioned. Once you get use to using ATI tray tools instead of catalyst control center you're set. So far I've tried it with Command&Conquer Red Alert 3 and Transformers-War for Cybertron. I've been playing C&C at 1440x900 in full screen with no problems. I had to go down to 1280x720 with the Transformers game to balance the speed/visuals to my taste. Transformers has frozen up a couple of times but I don't know if it's the game itself (I've read it locks up even in consoles) or not.

I use the Game Profile Manager from ATI tray tools to tweak the settings per game. It's quite easy so I recommend you take some time to learn to use it.

Hope somebody benefits from this and thank you to all the people who helped me and others to get xp on my machine!
